Shark sighting in Vilano Beach

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – News4JAX viewer Dave caught a rare sight on camera Saturday when he saw a shark swimming in the shallow waters at Vilano Beach.

The video was taken about 100 yards away from the entrance of the beach.

Dave tells News4JAX the shark came up to the shoreline at about 3:00 p.m. and swam around from about 20 minutes, but didn't bother anyone. He estimates the shark was between four to five feet long.

Dave said he noticed several people fishing along the beach nearby and the shark was likely attracted to the bait.
