CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – The Clay County Sheriff's Office reports that lightning strikes from overnight Sunday damaged their countywide emergency phone system.
As of Monday morning, the system was operating on back-up generators as workers tried to repair the damaged system. Callers will still be able to dial 911. They may experience a delay if they are reaching out to the Sheriff's Office administration lines.
