1 dead, 1 hurt after motorcycle hits curb

Motorcyclist died at the scene; passenger in critical condition

PALM COAST, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating why a motorcyclist ran into the curb, killing him and leaving his passenger in critical condition. 

The accident happened just after 8 p.m. Saturday as 40-year-old Gregory Fagas lost control of the motorcycle while riding north on Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast. After hitting the curb, Fagas and his passenger, 27-year-old Nacomi Campbell, were thrown from the bike.

The motorcycle ended up hitting a concrete utility pole.

Paramedics pronounced Fagas dead at the scene. Campbell was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center Hospital in Daytona. 

Troopers said the investigation is ongoing.
