2 arrested for trying to steal boat motor
Gainesville police found the 2 burglary suspects in the apartment complex
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville police have arrested two men accused of trying to steal a motor from a boat and other tools.
Police responded to the Tiffany apartment complex on Northwest 28th Circle after a caller reported seeing two suspects trying to remove a motor from a boat. An officer arrived and found one of the burglary suspects as he was attempting to walk out of the complex. The second suspect was found in the complex by another officer. Police arrested 45-year-old Felix Morgan and 36-year-old Kenyatta Patterson.
Bolt cutters and adjustable wrenches were found by the motor section of the boat. Police say there were obvious signs of tampering to the motor. Officers say Morgan and Patterson admitted to possession of the tools and said they threw them down when they saw law enforcement. They denied attempting to steal the motor.
