Officer unhurt in NW Jacksonville crash

Other driver hospitalized with unknown medical condition

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A patrol car was hit by another car at the intersection of Lannie and Lem Turner roads Thursday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police say it appears the other driver suffered some kind of medical condition that caused the crash. Officer R.M. Nauss IV was not injured.

The second driver was taken to UF Health Jacksonville in unknown condition. Police said it appeared she was not wearing a seat belt and hit the steering wheel in the crash.

JSO traffic homicide detectives were investigating since a police car was involved, but it wasn't believed that the driver's injury was life-threatening.
