Part of I-95 to close Sunday for sign installation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Interstate 95 southbound is scheduled to close to all traffic Sunday night between Baymeadows Road and Philips Highway for overhead sign placement. The closure will begin at 10 p.m. and end by 5 a.m. the following morning, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Traffic will detour off I-95 at (Exit 341) to Baymeadows Road west back to Philips Highway to I-95. Northbound traffic will not be affected.

FDOT began a project in September 2011 to rehabilitate concrete pavement on I-95 from south of Greenland Road to just south of J. Turner Butler Boulevard (6.3 miles). FDOT hired Reeves Construction of Macon, Georgia, who should finish the project this summer at a cost of $20 million.
