Man arrested in Horseman Club break-in

Anthony Kilchriss, 53, booked into Putnam County Jail

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – Putnam County deputies arrested a man accused of breaking into the Palatka Horseman Club on Monday.

Anthony Wayne Kilchriss, 53, was tracked by a canine team after being spotted inside the club, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

A club employee arrived at the main building and spotted a man hiding inside between two bookcases. The employee left the building and called the sheriff's office.

When a deputy arrived and realized the suspect may still be inside, he called for a canine unit to assist.

They discovered the suspect already left the building.  While checking the area, the canine found the suspect's track leading into a wooded area and ultimately found Kilchriss lying down in the woods in an apparent attempt to conceal himself, according to deputies.

Kilchriss broke a window to gain entry to the club but apparently didn't take anything, according to PCSO.

He was charged with trespass into a structure and criminal mischief. He was taken into custody and booked in the Putnam County Jail under $1,008 bond.
