Robbery victim dies from gunshot wound

PALATKA, Fla. – The Palatka Police Department says a man shot in a home-invasion robbery on Tuesday has died.

Police say during the robbery and shooting, Marcus Givens, 30, was shot by one of two unidentified suspects. The case is now being treated as a murder investigation.

Police say it has received some information on this case, but more is needed to positively identify the suspects.

During the robbery, Givens was in the home with his girlfriend and an 8-year-old child. The woman was forced to get money from another room, then Givens was shot.

Police say the suspects were described as black men in their twenties, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. One suspect wore a white shirt, dark pants and had what appeared to be a black ski mask covering his face. The second suspect had on what was described as a red shirt, dark pants and had a red and black mask of some type over his face.
