Deputies: Motorcyclist causes crash in St. Augustine
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A speeding motorcyclist caused a crash in St. Augustine on Friday, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a crash involving two motor vehicles and a motorcycle at W. King and Woodlawn streets around 5:15 p.m.
The preliminary investigation showed the motorcycle was speeding eastbound on W. King Street and attempted to pass a BMW on the right as the BMW was making a right turn.
The motorcycle hit the BMW and was launched forward into a green Infiniti, which was at the corner.
The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was identified as 36-year-old Robert Williams from St. Augustine. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Flagler Hospital.
The driver of the BMW did not have any injuries. The driver of the Infiniti suffered minor injuries from the shattered glass after the motorcyclist struck the window.
The investigation is continuing.
