Man shot in Northwest Jacksonville

JSO: Victim was hit in the upper torso


JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Police are investigating a shooting in Northwest Jacksonville that left one man with a gunshot wound.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a call of shots fired around 12:20 a.m. Saturday. It happened on West 13th Street, near Susie E. Tolbert Elementary School. When investigators got to the scene, they found a man with a single gunshot wound in his upper torso.

He was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to investigators.

The Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating this case.
