JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man is in police custody accused of attempted armed robbery.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says it responded to the Family Dollar on Edgewood Avenue for a robbery call Saturday afternoon.

JSO says something startled the alleged robber during the course of the attempted robbery. Police say the man ran from the store and got in his car and left.
Police say a witness called 911 and described the car. That witness also followed the car to Sally Street.
Police say they arrived to Sally Street and found the man in question. JSO says it recovered the gun used in the alleged incident.
Police have not released the man's name. He was being questioned by robbery detectives.
