FHP: Driver electrocuted after crash in Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla – A 25-year-old driver was killed early Sunday morning when his car crashed into a power pole on County Road 20A in Putnam County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Robert Beall, of Hawthorne, attempted to walk away from his Toyota Scion and was found dead across live power lines with visible injuries consistent with electrocution.

Beall's passenger, 23-year-old Hailey Roberts, was found trapped inside the Scion with live power lines across the vehicle. After the power lines were made safe, members of the West Putnam Volunteer Fire Department, Melrose Fire Department, Putnam County Fire/EMS, Putnam County Sheriff's Office and FHP helped pull Roberts out of the vehicle.

Roberts suffered serious injuries and was taken to UF Health hospital in Gainesville.
