PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A mother and son were arrested Sunday night for producing marijuana at their home on Tanner Road in Florahome.

Deborah Kaye Casner, 54, and her son Phillip Ethan Young, 22, were taken into custody after deputies discovered a tub containing a 4-foot marijuana plant and three additional tubs with stalks of marijuana plants, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. The tubs were reportedly surrounded by foliage to conceal them from view.

Deputies responded to the home on an argument complaint after Casner's boyfriend - Ricky Norman, 51 - reportedly jerked Young out of his wheelchair during an argument. Deputies went searching for Norman in the wooded area when they discovered the marijuana.

Casner and Young claimed ownership of the plants and reportedly told deputies, they were for medicinal purposes to avoid taking pain pills.

The two were booked into the Putnam County Jail. Casner and Young were granted $1,004.00 bond, each.
