Woman crossing Main Street struck, killed

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 56-year-old woman was killed late Tuesday night while trying to cross Main Street, just north of Interstate 295, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Mary Hall was trying to cross Main Street about 11:30 p.m. when she was hit by a pickup truck driven by Jerry M. Faircloth, 63, that was coming off the ramp after exiting I-295.

Hall was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where she later died.

According to the FHP accident report, the driver was not facing any charges.
