Deputies: Man shot during argument with wife


PALATKA, Fla. – A 40-year-old Palatka man was shot in the head late Wednesday night during an argument with his wife, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said.

Michael Willett was flown to UF Health Jacksonville about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Deputies said the initial investigation showed Willett and his wife were arguing at their home when a Willett's handgun went off, shooting him in the head.

He remains in critical condition.

Detectives are investigating the cause of the shooting.
