Deputies: Christopher Jones arrested on multiple charges
COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A Lake City man was arrested on multiple charges Wednesday after a pursuit, deputies said.
Deputies were in the area of the Super 8 motel on U.S. 90 when they saw Christopher Jones, 43, whom they knew had a felony warrant for his arrest, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said Jones was in a vehicle and when the deputies attempted to pull him over, he drove off at a high rate of speed.
Deputies followed Jones and coordinated with other local agencies in an attempt to apprehend Jones. Deputies said when Jones turned onto Arlington Road, a deputy preformed a precision immobilization technique maneuver, causing Jones' car to spin out and become disabled in a ditch. He was taken into custody.
Deputies said Jones was booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility on the warrant for violation of parole with no bond, Fleeing and attempting to elude ($10,000 bond), possession of a controlled substance ($10,000 bond), reckless driving ($5,000 bond) and resisting officer without violence ($5,000 bond).
No injuries were reported.
