Fire at Miramar shopping center

State fire marshal investigating

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The state fire marshal is investigating a fire in Miramar early Sunday morning.

The fire broke out in the Miramar Shopping Center on Hendricks Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary alarm at the Toscana Little Italy restaurant. When police arrived, they noticed smoke and called fire rescue.

Officials say a rock thrown through the door of the restaurant is what set the burglary alarm off and there was small fire that started under the bar.

The restaurant has severe smoke damage. There were no injuries reported.
