Police: 14-year-old lied about abduction

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 14-year-old boy made up a story he told police about being abducted in Northwest Jacksonville Wednesday afternoon, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Wednesday night.

According to police, the teenager said he was picked up by a male stranger on Kings Road near Edward Waters College at 2 p.m. and was driven around for several minutes, sexually assaulted while in the vehicle and then dropped off at the same location.

JSO said the teen went home and told his parents, who called police.

Officials came forward saying that after an investigation that went into the night the Sheriff's Office determined that the abduction did not take place but said that detectives are still working to determine exactly what happened.
