LAKE CITY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a driver died Wednesday after a speeding pickup truck left Interstate 10, struck some trees and caught fire.
According to the accident report, the vehicle was westbound about 2:20 p.m. about 9 miles east of Lake City when witnesses said the driver lost control.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The vehicle was so charred the make and model was not immediately known. The identity of the victim was withheld pending the notification of family.
