The victim, who sought treatment for her injuries at Baptist South Hospital, told police that she and Reincke had a verbal fight Monday morning that escalated into physical violence. She said Reincke threw her from the bathroom into the bedroom and then grabbed her by the throat, choking her as he held her against a wall.

She said he threw her to the ground and when she tried to get up, Reincke slapped the back of her head and grabbed her arm, leaving visible bruises.

She said he grabbed her by the throat again and pushed her against the foot board of the bed, injuring her rib cage.

She told police after the altercation, Reincke was apologetic and "told her she made him mad and that was why he struck her."

The victim told police that she told Reincke she was going to work and then went to the hospital to seek medical treatment for her injuries.

A nurse treating the victim called police.
