Sports bars to open early for Jaguars game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguar fans won't have to travel over the pond to catch the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Buffalo Bills in London Sunday morning.

The game is taking place Sunday earlier than usual at 9:30 a.m. Many local pubs and bars are making sure they have Jaguar fans covered, and a lot of sport bars are opening early just for the Jaguar game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are on their way to London Thursday evening as they prepare to play the Buffalo Bills at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Some of the restaurants are offering a light breakfast and beer, others some finger foods, mimosas, and more beer. There will be plenty of competition since so many will be open.

Fans can watch football and get a bit of the British experience, all while enjoying a brew at the Kings Head British Pub in St. Johns County.

Like many local bars and pubs around the city Ann Dyke, the owner of Kings Head British Pub is opening her doors two hours early just for the game.

"They will come here and have their pub experience and it will save them the airfare," Dyke said. "I was asked by some of my customers if would I open up for the Jags game and I said yes I would. But I said my kitchen won't be open until 11:30. So I will serve appetizers and drinks before."

The Jaguars will continue playing in London through 2020.
