Virginia Hinckley suspended with pay pending investigation


ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A St. Augustine High School teacher is being investigated by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office for having an inappropriate relationship with a student, police said Thursday evening.

Virginia Hinckley has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of sheriff's office and school investigation, according to the St. Johns County school district.

SJCSO said it received word of the allegations on Tuesday.

According to the St. Augustine High School's website, Hinckley teaches 9th grade English and 9th and 10th grade intensive reading.

No further information was immediately released.
