Dynamic Airways plane catches fire at Fort Lauderdale airport

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Firefighters extinguished a fire on a commercial airplane early Thursday afternoon at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

The fire was reported shortly after noon on a Boeing 767 airplane operated by Dynamic Airways.

Sky 10, the news helicopter for News4Jax sister station WPLG, was above the scene shortly after 12:30 p.m. as white foam covered the tarmac.

At least one person on a stretcher was placed into the back of an ambulance.

It wasn't immediately clear whether anyone was on board or what sparked the fire.

Dynamic Airways was founded in 2010 and its headquarters is in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The flight was headed to Caracas, Venezuela.
