Armed man attempts to rob Jacksonville Family Dollar


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Deputies are searching for a man who robbed a Family Dollar Wednesday at 1010 N. Arlington Rd.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the man walked in and out of the business several times asking about cellphone chargers.

The man returned to the counter with a black handgun drawn and demanded money from the register.

A live security monitoring service activated the PA and asked if the cashier was OK, sending the armed man running in a panic.

Deputies described the man as black and in his 40s or 50s. He was wearing a black baseball cap and a gray shirt.
