Hormel recalls Skippy peanut butter jars

Some jars may contain metal fragments

Hormel Foods Corp is recalling a limited number of jars of Skippy peanut butter. The recall affects seven states, including Georgia. Florida is not included.

Those jars were all sent to Publix, Target and Walmart stores. They are being recalled because they may contain metal fragments. The company says the metal fragments came from an equipment malfunction. That malfunction has been fixed.

The recall involve 153 cases of Skippy's Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread. The recall is limited to the 16.3 ounce jars of the product. The affected jars have a "Best If Used By" date of DEC1416LR1. They also have a UPC code of 37600-10500.
