JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One man is in life-threatening condition after he was hit crossing the street in the San Jose area Thursday evening.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man in his 50s was crossing University Boulevard near Powers Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle travelling westbound.

Police said the man was outside of the crosswalk when he was hit.
The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with investigators, JSO said.
JSO said all westbound lanes of University Boulevard near Powers Avenue will reopen around 11 p.m. Thursday night.
Traffic homicide is investigating the accident.
