"We're searching the area for any potential rest of the remains or any other remains that may be on the property. It's a very large piece of property about a mile into the woods," said Sgt. Jay Farhat with JSO.

The mobile home is located on property off Philips Highway near Big Davis Creek, which is south of Interstate 295.

Police said it appears the remains were there at least a year.

They are working to find the previous owner of the property to figure out who the remains may belong to.

The Medical Examiner was heading to the scene Thursday afternoon.

"Once we get it back to the office, we'll probably have to send it back to a forensic anthropologist to determine the age of the remains and if there was any type of cause of death," said Sgt. Farhat.

Anyone with information is urged to call JSO at 904-630-0500.
