Officer taken to hospital after crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was injured Monday morning when a vehicle rear-ended the officer's patrol car, which was blocking traffic on Butler Boulevard, police said.

The officer was blocking traffic for other officers working a crash involving a disabled vehicle on Butler Boulevard west of Gate Parkway, police said.

The rear of the officer's patrol car was hit by another vehicle, and the officer was taken to a hospital, but is expected to be OK. 

Two other traffic crashes on Butler Boulevard were also slowing traffic Monday, police said.
