Positively Jax: Officers pull man from burning car

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two Jacksonville police officers are being praised for pulling a man out of a burning vehicle in Mandarin.

Officers Berry and Carlson responded to a crash on Aladin Road near Loretto Road in the early morning hours of October 29.

A driver lost control on a curve and hit a tree. When officers arrived, the vehicle was on fire and the driver was trapped inside.

Both officers pulled the driver out through the right rear door. 

"Officer Carlson and Officer Berry put their lives on the line to save this driver's life. Fire Rescue responded and stated that if these two officers did not extricate the driver, he would not have lived," the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
