Drugs, large sum of money found in car

UNION COUNTY, Fla. – Two men were arrested Thursday after deputies in Union County said they found drugs and large sums of money in the men's vehicle.

Donald Lee "Big Don" Johnson, 49, from Lake Butler and James Lamar Clark, 57, from Brooker were arrested after over 12 grams of cocaine in both powder and crack form, a large quantity of marijuana and cash were recovered from their car, deputies said.

Union County Sheriff's Office deputies made the arrests following a traffic stop south of Lake Butler Thursday afternoon.

Deputies with the Zero Tolerance task froce who have been watching suspects that tipsters have called in, conducted a traffic stop after observing several moving violations from a vehicle travelling northbound on County Road 231 south of Lake Butler.

Once stopped, the driver and passenger became nervous and deputies learned the driver of the silver Dodge pickup was driving on a suspended license. The driver admitted there was approximately a pound of marijuana under his seat. The passenger retrieved the marijuana.

Both occupants were secured for safety as deputies notified additional units along with a K-9 unit from nearby Bradford County.

As the investigation unfolds the UCSO is conducting a search warrant on Johnson's cellphone to determine other parties involved in this case. Additional charges are expected to come.

Johnson and Clark may also face weapons charges stemming from this case. Both suspects remain in the Union County jail.Â
