JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An off-duty Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer was flagged down around 8 p.m. Thursday on the 8600 block of Lancashire Drive by a woman who said she had been shot.
A concerned citizen also called police to report the shooting and officers began searching the area for a suspect, deputies said.

Officers who were on scene also received reports of a neighboring home being shot into on a neighboring block by a man who fit the description of the person who flagged down deputies.
Officers spotted the man and promptly arrested him while the victim was taken to UF Health by the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department where she was in serious but stable condition.
