JSO hiring more crossing guards

School crossing guard jobs available

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –  JSO's Community Affairs Division is looking to hire School Crossing Guards. They want part-time employees who are assigned to roadways near elementary schools throughout the city to assist children in traveling to and from school safely. 

They work one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon for a maximum of 10 hours a week and receive $9.56 an hour.

Police are looking for people who want to work for schools that they live near. Once selected, applicants must pass a background check and drug screening. They must also pass a written exam and a practical exam after training.
