McRorie named provost at FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sally McRorie, who has served as Florida State University's interim provost for the past year, was named Tuesday as the school's provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.

McRorie was one of four finalists for the job, which is the university's chief academic officer.

Before serving as interim provost, she had worked as vice president for faculty development and advancement.

"Sally has an excellent record of accomplishments as a scholar and administrator at Florida State and other universities," university President John Thrasher said in a prepared statement. "Her knowledge and passion for FSU run deep. Over the past 21 years, she has served as a professor, dean, vice president and interim provost."
