Free breakfast for all Duval County students
County announces all students can receive free breakfast beginning Jan. 11
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Duval County Public Schools will begin offering a universal breakfast program early next year at 47 schools that don’t participate in the community eligibility program.
Effective Jan. 11, the program, funded by a federal funding surplus, will allow all students to receive a healthy and nutritious meal to start their day.
Typical items include breakfast chicken sandwiches, cereals, egg and cheese wraps, whole wheat muffins, and breakfast pizzas.
No student or parent applications are needed to take advantage of the free program, officials said.
