Life sentence handed down for man who committed numerous crimes

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The state attorney's office says a habitual felony offender was sentenced this week to life in prison. Anthony Schlosser, 35, was sentenced for three counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted burglary to an occupied dwelling and one count of trespass.

Schlosser pleaded guilty to those charges in August 2015.

The district attorney says in November 2013, Schlosser committing a series of criminal acts that included breaking into homes and stealing money and other items from a local gas station.

During one incident, the victim was walking out of the Kangaroo Store on Old Middleburg Road when  Schlosser approached her. The district attorney says Schlosser pointed a knife at her and demanded she drop her car keys and go back into the store. When the victim went back into the store, another individual confronted Schlosser, causing him to run from the scene. Schlosser was arrested later that day.

Schlosser has two prior felony convictions for grand theft.
