St. Johns County Fire Rescue saves bird that got caught in string

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a call from a citizen about a bird stuck in a tree.

Fire Rescue says when it arrived crews found a bird hanging by its beak approximately 20 feet up into the tree. The bird had become entangled in some string and then became tangled in the tree.

Firefighters used a 24-foot extension ladder to reach the bird and free it from the tree. Once crews stabilized the bird, the string was removed. The bird was able to fly away without injury.
