Police said he tried to ram into an officer's cruiser during the pursuit. Speeds varied from 45-60 mph.

According to JSO, the pursuit began shortly before noon when Gallion began to flee on Philips Highway, then headed just south of University Boulevard, went through downtown Jacksonville, then Arlington, then back downtown.

The vehicle’s tires were spiked with stop sticks and the car chase ended when Gallion crashed into a carport of a house at 1100 block of 1st Street.

Neither Gallion nor any of the police officers suffered any injuries; and no one was injured inside the house, since it was unoccupied.

Investigators said the white pick-up truck he was driving appears to be a company vehicle but they did not release the company's name.
