Police said it appears the men were in their late teens or early 20s. One of the men was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The other is stable.

At least 13 shell casings were found on the ground near the vehicle.

A dark car was seen leaving the area after the shooting. Police said they weren't sure if that was the shooter or another driver trying to get away from the gunfire.

Police are speaking to witnesses but have no suspect information to release at this time.

News4JAX spoke to people in the area who say they've seen crime go up in this neighborhood. A look at a JSO Crime map of the intersection shows at least 50 violent crimes just in the last year. Those crimes include assaults, robberies, burglaries and a murder.

"An every day thing almost over here. I mean, it happens all the time," said Kat Welch.
Anyone with information is urged to call JSO at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
