3 hurt in St. Augustine cruiser crash

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A St. Augustine police officer and two others were taken to Flagler Hospital Wednesday morning after the officer’s SUV collided with a car on Masters Drive.

Police said the officer's marked SUV was responding to call at 1:19 p.m. and was passing a car when its driver made a left turn. The Honda struck the right front of the marked cruiser on Masters at Ravenswood Drive.

The officer called for rescue, and city and county law enforcement officers also responded. Officer J. Brown and two people from the other vehicle were taken to Flagler Hospital with what were described as minor injuries.

Traffic officers from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash at the request of St. Augustine police.
