LAKE CITY, Fla. – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday evening on U.S. 90 in Lake City, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Hernan Figuroa, 67, walked into the path of a vehicle on U.S. 90 at the intersection of SE Defender Drive, troopers said.
Investigators said the driver, Lelatachlenisa Myers, 42, of Brooksville, tried to swerve to avoid hitting Figuroa.
Myers' passenger side mirror hit Figuroa and the impact knocked him down. Myers did stop at the scene.
Troopers said Figuroa was trying to get back up when a tractor-trailer hit him. The driver of the tractor-trailer did not stop.
Witnesses could only say the tractor-trailer was white, but didn't have any other description.
