LAKE CITY, Fla. – The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding a seriously injured 11-month-old child that was brought to the Lake City Medical Center for treatment Tuesday by the baby’s mother and her boyfriend.
Deputies were called to the hospital due to the injuries to the child when staff reported that the baby was unresponsive and having difficulty breathing.

The baby was flown from Lake City Medical Center to a Gainesville hospital for further treatment. The condition was not known Tuesday afternoon.
The mother, Molly Hill, 19, and her boyfriend, Dwight Tyre, 23, were questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
