Jacksonville man convicted for ATM assault

Defendant faces 40 years and up to life in prison

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man was found guilty this week of one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault.  

Casey Stuart Mattingly, 30, faces 40 years and up to life in prison.

In May 2012, the two victims were at a drive-thru ATM when Mattingly approached their vehicle and fired one shot, striking the passenger side of their car.

The defendant then pointed his gun at the victims and ordered them to exit their vehicle. Mattingly then got into the car and fled the scene.

He will be sentenced the week of Feb. 8.
