Neptune Beach seeks new police chief

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – The search continues for a new police chief for Neptune Beach Police Department. 

No decision was made at  Monday night’s City Council meeting.

A Neptune Beach Police Department lieutenant was fired by the city manager, the city attorney said Friday.

Lt. Adam Militello was discharged by Andrew Hyatt on Wednesday for reasons that can not be released yet, attorney Patrick Krechowski said.

The department's interim police chief, Tony Carillo, resigned and his last day was last week.

Monday, Hyatt presented his selections for the replacement police chief to the City Council for its approval.

In the meantime, Hyatt and two sergeants are in charge of the Neptune Beach P.D.
