Video shows gas station clerk fighting off armed robber

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A convenience store clerk in central Florida, who is a U.S. military veteran, fought off an armed robber.

Surveillance video shows the man walking up to the clerk with a gun, demanding money. The suspect handed the clerk a plastic bag to put the money in, and there was a struggle for the weapon.

The clerk, who did multiple tours in Iraq, said he saw a chance to disarm the robber. The suspect ran out of the store and got into the passenger side of a maroon, older model four-door car with a white top.

The suspect is described as a white man, 19 to 22 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket with fur lining the hood, a Chicago White Sox hat, a white bandana covering his nose and mouth, and purple latex gloves. The hat was left at the scene.
