1 arrested after drug raid at St. Augustine home
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A 62-year old St. Johns County man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for sale of a Schedule II substance Thursday morning following the execution of a search warrant.
The suspect, identified as Verl Joseph Solano Jr., of Shamrock Road, was booked into the St. Johns County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
Special Investigations Unit (S.I.U.) Detectives along with FDLE agents conducted undercover purchases of narcotics from Solano at his St. Augustine South home over the past three months and obtained a search warrant for the residence, deputies said.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team secured the home at 10 a.m. Thursday and detectives searched the residence.
Detectives recovered several pills of a Schedule II substance as well as ammunition. In addition to the warrant, Solano faces charges of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
