Flagler Co. Sheriff's Office arrest robbery suspect

PALM COAST, Fla. – The Flagler County Sheriff's Office says quick action led to the arrest of an alleged robber.

The Sheriff's Office says it responded to a pizza delivery driver who was robbed Friday night behind Flagler Plaza on 6115 E. State Road 100 in Palm Coast. Deputies were then able to respond within seconds to a second robbery at a nearby Burger King where a store manager was reported being forced into a back room to empty the safe.

The Sheriff's Office says Dwight Lanfair, 47, an employee of Burger King was arrested in the parking lot and charged with that robbery. Lanfair is considered a person of interest in the pizza delivery robbery.

Lanfair is being held in the Flagler County Jail with no bail allowed.

“Our deputies acted quickly and professionally to thwart any more robberies last night,’’ Sheriff James L.Manfre says. “I’m very pleased at this outcome.’’

In the Burger King robbery, a male suspect dressed in black implied he had a weapon and ordered a store
employee against an ice machine with his hands in the air, and told the worker to call the store manager to
empty the safe. The manager handed him an undetermined amount of money and the suspect fled out the
back door.

As deputies investigated, Lanfair was observed sitting on a bicycle in the parking lot of Burger
King. He was wearing a reflective vest, blue shirt and shorts. He carried a backpack that he agreed to let
deputies search. The backpack contained cash, black clothing and a mask that matched the description of a
mask worn in both robberies.

Another Burger King employee was arrested because he had an outstanding warrant on an unrelated drug charge.
