Orlando police cruisers crash into each other

1 officer suffers minor injuries

ORLANDO, Fla. – Two Orlando Police Department patrol cruisers crashed into each early Monday, causing one of them to overturn.

The crash happened on LB McLeod at Surfside Way as officers were on their way to help assist in a traffic stop involving a stolen vehicle, according to officials.

Police said that the stolen vehicle decided to flee the traffic stop, so officers ended their pursuit but the officers somehow collided, leaving an OPD sport utility vehicle on its side.

One officer suffered minor injuries, and the other was not injured, police said. No one was taken to the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
