JSO: Man wearing straw hat robs bank

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat robbed the Fifth Third Bank on San Jose Boulevard on Friday morning, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

The bank is at the corner of Loretto Road and San Jose Boulevard.

Police said the man walked in just before 10:30 a.m., slipped a note to the teller demanding cash and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Officers have been searching the area for a black man in his 30s, about 5 feet, 1 inch to 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing about 135 pounds. He was wearing a light colored, long-sleeved striped dress shirt and dark pants and had on a wide-brimmed straw hat.
