Police respond to 2 separate shootings at Cedar Creek Villas

Police return to Cedar Creek Villas in response to second shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police were called to the Cedar Creek Villas twice on Saturday for two separate shootings, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers first responded to the neighborhood just around 12:30 p.m. and found two people had been shot at. Investigators said two victims were approached by a gray Dodge with multiple men inside.

The victims told police they ran away when two people leaned out the window and began shooting. One victim said her hand was grazed, although there was no sign of injury, investigators said. The other was not hit.

Police were called again around 7:30 p.m. Saturday to reports of someone having been shot at. Officers arrived to find a man had been shot in the foot.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
