Wandering 12-year-old boy identified by teacher

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has found the family of a 12-year-old boy, above, found early Thursday morning.

A teacher called police and identified the child, according to JSO's Twitter page. They were then able to contact the boy's family.

JSO first received calls about a child near Hood Road and Coleman Road, appearing to be disoriented and removing his clothes. Investigators said the child appears to be 12 years old.

The same caller called again saying the child had jumped into a pond. Responding officers removed the child from the pond. He did not appear to be injured but was taken to the hospital for precaution.

Investigators said the child is not communicative.
